KPCB Internet Trend Report May 2013

The 2013 edition of the annual KPCB Internet Trends report was just published. There are now 2.4 billion Internet users around the world, and the total continues to grow.

A short summary shows that mobile usage is expanding rapidly, but the mobile advertising opportunity still remains untapped. The report also shows that there is a continued high focus on social media and creating content, with expanded use of photos, video and audio.

Looking ahead, the report has identified early signs of growth for wearable computing devices, like glasses, connected wrist bands and watches – and also the emergence of connected cars and other new platforms.
